Welcome to the Occupational Therapy Service

We are dedicated to providing personalised, specialist rehabilitation to enhance your independence and wellbeing. Our service offers individually tailored occupational therapy for all adults needing assessment and rehabilitation after an acquired and/or traumatic brain injury. We pride ourselves on a flexible, responsive approach that is centred around your goals, helping you regain confidence and function in the areas of life that matter most.

Our sessions can conveniently take place in your home, workplace, or the community.

Ian Connell

Occupational Therapist

  • Ian qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1995 at Derby University and completed a post-registration course – Development in the Occupational Therapy Management of Neurological Conditions shortly after.

    Ian has 30 years of clinical experience having worked with people of all ages, working across a diversity of clinical areas including elderly care, orthopaedics, community rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, rheumatology, hands, pain management, reablement, urgent care, and single-handed care.

    Together with his clinical experience, Ian led a community-based OT team in the role of Head OT and progressed onto a 2-year acting role as Community Services Manager.

    Ian returned to his roots as a clinician in the NHS before venturing into private practice to continue work in the field of neurology.  Ian has continued to work as an associate and independent OT for the past 9 years.

    Ian thrives off working alongside such a diverse group of clients, identifying their day-to-day challenges and supporting them to overcome these barriers to reach their goals.
